Maria Kostikova from Kemerovo Oblast shared her impressions.

"I was worrying how I would fight after a pause caused by the injury, but all in all it was good. There're moments to work on, as always. But for the first fight it's not that bad. I strive for victory, nothing else. There is always place for worries, sure, I have only participated  in the Russian championships, I'm only starting to prove my excellence in my weight class. I haven't had much difficulties during the fight today. I knew what to do and tried to do it.

The next fight is going to be a lot easier. Other variants but victory are out of the question.

We competed at the World Cup in Kazan last winter. The weather was fine. We liked it then. Now we are staying in the Universiade Village. It’s green; peace and calm here.”

The preliminaries determined the male Thai boxers to further compete: Charak Murtuzaliev and Alxander Zatinaychenko (48 kg), Stepan Tkachenko (51 kg) and Armen Simonyan (57 kg), Farid Shakhbazov (75 kg), Sergey Veselkin (81 kg), Nadir Iskhakov and Gadzhi Medzhidov (up to 81 kg). In the category 91+ Igor Novikov, Sagov Kureish and Alexander Grinchuk made it to the next round of the competitions.
