Evgenia Tarasova gains Olympic silver medal!

Russian figure skaters finish second in the Team Event.

Olympic athletes from Russia placed second with 66 points. Team Canada topped the podium with 73 points. The USA athletes ended up third with 62 points.

Athlete from Tatarstan, Evgenia Tarasova, together with Vladimir Morozov from Moscow competed in pair skating short programme. With the result of 80,92, the Russian athletes took the crown in the event, leaving behind rivals from Canada and Germany.

Evgenia Medvedeva and Alina Zagitova, who flawlessly performed their Short and Free Skating programmes respectively, also took the crown in the singles.

All the athletes performing in 8 programmes of the team event receive medals for a prize winning spot.

The OAR team was represented by:

Singles, Mikhail Kolyada — 8th and 2nd place (3 points in Short Programme, 9 points in Free Skating);

Pair Skating, Evgenia Tarasova / Vladimir Morozov — 1st place (Short Programme, 10 points);

Pair Skating, Natalia Zabiiako / Alexander Enbert — 3rd place (Free Skating, 8 points);

Ice Dance, Ekaterina Bobrova / Dmitri Soloviev — 3rd place (Short Dance — 8 points, Free Dance — 8 points);

Evgenia Medvedeva — 1st place (Short Programme, 10 points);

Alina Zagitova — 1st place (Free Skating, 10 points).

The next competition for Tarasova and Morozov is scheduled on 14-15 February, when the athletes will compete for medals in Pair Skating.
