Successful candidates for the Russia 2018 LOC Volunteer Programme and Host City volunteers begin their trainings for the World Cup. The first phase of the training will take place on 12-14 April at the Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism.
The trainings will feature the general information about the FIFA, its mission and development, the FIFA World Cup TM and its history, information on the tournament venues, FIFA client groups, Russia 2018 LOC and Host Cities functional areas, responsibilities and functions of volunteers, development of international communication skills, personal and public security, communication with physically challenged people, legacy dedicated programmes, sustainable development and many other topics.
A team of qualified professionals will train the volunteers during these days. The general phase of the training features several sessions and is scheduled for 8.5 hours.
As we have informed, both the volunteers of the Russia 2018 LOC and Host City Volunteers will assist the spectators during the event in Kazan. These two programmes differ in the functional areas of the volunteers and their client groups.
The Russia 2018 LOC are engaged in the processes directly related to the organisation of the tournament. This team consists of 1,342 persons. The recruiting for the volunteers of the Russia 2018 LOC is currently over.
Host City Volunteers will assist the most numerous client group of the tournament, the fans. By date, more than 3,000 applications were received with a total requirement of 1,000 volunteers. The application process kicked off on 6 March 2018, and it will conclude on 15 May 2018. Based on the outcome of the interviews, 6 groups of volunteers will be formed: Host City volunteers infopoints, transport volunteers, flow management at the Kazan Arena territory, medical assistance at the city hospitals (Russian Clinical Hospital, City Clinical Hospital №7, Republican Infectious Clinical Hospital), volunteers management, FIFA Fan Fest. The Directorate for Sports and Social Projects is the operator of the Host City programme in Kazan.
