Russia Day celebrated an the Kazan Family Centre

A celebration concert dedicated to the Russia Day took place in the Kazan Family Centre Park on 12 June. The official ceremony was attended by President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. 

In his speech to guests of the event Rustam Minnikhanov recalled that this holiday is celebrated across the whole country by new achievements, victories and venues. As an example, the president spoke about the Kazan Family Centre venue where on 14 June the FIFA Fan Fest™ will be officially opened. He also told about a new boulevard "Festivalnyi" that was opened specially in the lead-up to the World Cup. It starts from the Kozya Sloboda metro station and leads to the Kazan Family Centre.

As it was said by Rustam Minnikhanov, a lot is being done in Kazan and in Tatarstan to improve the citizens' quality of life and develop public spaces. "We are proud of our country!" said Rustam Minnikhanov. "Russia must be strong! And Tatarstan should contribute to it."

Elmira Kalimullina together with a choir performed the anthem of the Russian Federation. All guests, volunteers, and representatives of the youth organizations sang along to the anthem.

The concert programme by the Kazan Family Centre started at midday and lasted until 19:00. The music band "Discoteka Avaria" was the headliner of the concert. The guests of the event also enjoyed the "Murakami" Music Band. About 16,300 people visited the venue.
