During the visit of the official Tatarstan delegation to Krasnoyarsk, Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, Damir Fattakhov, attanded a meeting with volunteers who are representing the republic at the 29th Winter Universiade. Volunteers shared their impressions of being part of the World University Games and thanked the minister for the opportunities granted to them by the republic.
The meeting took place on 3 March at the Perya Complex, where non-local and international volunteers are accommodated for the period of the World University Games. Various topics were discussed during the event: from services provided to volunteers at Krasnoyarsk 2019 to memories of the 2013 World University Summer Games in Kazan. The Tatarstan volunteer team includes the volunteers who had previously worked at various international events, as well as the volunteers who haven’t travelled outside Kazan before but both experienced volunteers and newbies are overwhelmed with emotions – boys and girls largely shared their impressions and asked plenty of questions. At the end of the meeting, there was a group photo and a volunteer flash mob ‘Who is a volunteer? I am a volunteer!’, that originated during the preparation for the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan and became a traditional greeting loved by all volunteers Russia-wide.
As was reported earlier, the 29th World University Summer Games are held these days in Krasnoyarsk. Over 5,000 volunteers, 1,000 of which are from 62 regions of the Russian Federation and 36 countries of the world (USA, Estonia, Finland, China, Chinese Taipei, Italy, Honduras, Portugal, etc.) lend their hand to the Kazan 2019 Organizing Committee. 50 volunteers represent the Republic of Tatarstan at the Games. Their internship is organized with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
