The FINA Artistic Swimming World Series and the Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship kicked off at the Aquatics Palace, Kazan. The tournament started with a solo technical routine. Svetlana Kolesnichenko (Russia) ranked first (92,8144 points). Svetlana is the 2016 Summer Olympics champion, multiple World and European champion.
Alina Mantulenko (Russia) took silver (86,2862 points). Vasiliki Alexandri (Austria) ranked third in the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series (85,1902 points). Karina Shaidullina (Russia) took bronze at the Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship combined with the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series (83,9590 points).
After the tournament, an Austrian synchro swimmer told that she was satisfied with her result, even though not everything had been perfect. By the way, she started preparing her programme to the “Storm” melody in November. “I have just taken bronze, but new starts and new results are waiting for me in the future. I am going to take part in the next leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series in Tokio, the Austrian National Championship, and the 18th FINA World Aquatics Championships”, noted Vasiliki Alexandri.
Svetlana Kolesnichenko and five times Olympic champion and multiple World and European champion Svetlana Romashina (Russia) won the duet technical routine (96,1481 points).
Linda Cerruti and Costanza Ferro (Italy) took silver (89,8612 points). Anna-Maria Alexandri and Eirini Alexandri (Austria) ranked third (87,7417 points).
Varvara Kleopalova and Alina Matvienko from Moscow took silver (87,2116 points), Alisa Golubeva and Iana Presniakova from Saint Petersburg won bronze (83,3785 points) at the Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship.
