The fourth leg of the FINA/CNSG Diving World Series kicked off in Kazan. The competition programme started with 10m synchro. The Russian duet of Iulia Timoshinina and Ekaterina Beliaeva won bronze (292.20 points).
“We are satisfied with our performance; we were required to do well. But my last dive was not really successful, as for Ekaterina, she was brilliant, everything turned out to be great. We have taken part in one leg of the FINA/CNSG Diving World Series and won medals, which is a good start”, said Iulia Timoshinina. “The most difficult thing was to overcome fear and nervousness. We were aware of the fact that all the athletes were strong. We have met with our rivals before”, said Ekaterina Beliaeva.
The Russian Diving Championship is the next step in their long and thorny way to the national team to take part in the World Aquatics Championships.
Athletes representing China Yuan Haoyan and Chen Yuxi took gold (338.70 points). Kim Mi Rae and Jo Jin Mi from DPRK won silver (315.42).
