“Of course, I am satisfied with the first prize. But I could have dived better. There is so much to be worked on. I really wanted to win. I have taken silver for three years in this event”.
“I have competed for the gold medal, but I am happy for Ilya Molchanov. Athletes in Russia are very strong. There are so many young divers. It’s challenging. Kazan is my favourite place: I like the atmosphere, audience, fantastic swimming pool”, said Novoselov.
Ilyinykh ranked first (260,15 points). Maria Polyakova took silver (258,56 points). Vitaliya Koroleva won bronze (251,80 points). “The first dive was not that good, but I fought to the finish and tried to show myself in the best light. I have become a champion of Russia in this event for the first time. It’s kind of new experience”, shared her emotions Ilyinykh.
