The Russian Short Course Swimming Championships will be held on 5-10 November in Kazan, after the FINA Swimming World Cup leg. Competitions will be held at the Aquatics Palace.
More than 800 Russian swimmers will come to Kazan this year to participate in the main national start of the season, including Olympic medallists Sergey and Anastasia Fesikov, winners and medallists of European and world Championships - Klement Kolesnikov, Vladislav Grinev, Alexander Krasnykh, Oleg Kostin, Mikhail Vekovishchev, Martin Malyutin, Grigory Tarasevich, Rosalia Nasretdinova, Maria Kameneva, Veronika Andrusenko, Daria Ustinova, Daria Vaskina, Svetlana Chimrova and many others.
The national championship is the main qualifying event for Russian athletes before the European Swimming Championships (25 m), which will be held 4-8 December 2019 in Glasgow (GBR).
During six days of the competition, 46 sets of medals will be awarded. The results of the championship will help to determine the best athletes of the competition,who will show the highest results in the FINA points table.
At the first day of competition, there will be an autograph session with three-time winner of the 2019 FINA World Championships in Gwangju, three-time silver medallist of the 2018 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) in Hangzhou, winner and two-time medallist of the 2018 European Aquatics Championships шт Glasgow Vladislav Grinev, as well as the legend of Russian aquatic sports, four-time Olympic champion, President of the Russian Swimming Federation Vladimir Salnikov.
On 6-9 November, an All-Russian seminar for judges in swimming and open water swimming will also be held in Kazan. The seminar is hosted by international category judges Yuri Zherdev, Alexey Akatiev, Natalia Gurtovikh and the All-Russian category judge Marina Kolmykova. More than 100 judges from 39 regions of Russia applied to participate in the seminar.
The organizers of the Russian Short Course Swimming Championships are the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan, Directorate for Sports and Social Projects, Russian Swimming Federation and Swimming Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The grand opening of the Russian championship will be held on 5 November at 17:40 at the Aquatics Palace, Kazan. The preliminares of the Russian championship are scheduled for 09:00, final and semifinal events will begin at 18:00 on 5-9 November and at 17:00 on 10 November.
Final and semifinal events of the Russian championships will be broadcast on the Match! Strana TV channels and online at the official website of the Russian Swimming Federation.
