The world’s strongest foilswomen will gather in Kazan on February 21-23. One of the legs of the Fencing World Cup in Women's Foil will be held at the Gymnastics Centre. Athletes will compete in two medal events: individual and team.

Admission to the tournament for spectators will be free. The schedule of competitions can be found on the Directorate's website.

The tournament is expected to be very intense, as the Olympic panel sifting continues, and all teams will strive to gain points that will allow them to get into the coveted eight: it is the eight teams that will be able to compete in the Olympic medal events in less than six months in the Japanese capital of Tokyo. The tournament's favourites are athletes from Russia, Italy, France, USA, Germany, Poland, Hungary.

Kazan has previously hosted fencing events. Fencing was also featured in the 2013 Summer Universiade programme. In 2014, the Kazan Tennis Academy provided a venue for the World Fencing Championship, and in 2019, the Boxing and Table Tennis Centre hosted the Russian U18 Fencing Championships.
