654 school students from 83 Russian regions are ready to compete for the main trophy in the finals of 5th All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Festival “Ready for Labour and Defence” (GTO). The International Children’s Centre Artek will host the festival on 17 October – 7 November. The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation coordinate the organization and delivery of the event.
Kazan is going to welcome world-class star swimmers once again as the host of the sixth leg of the FINA Swimming World Cup 2019 at the Aquatics Palace in Kazan on 1-3 November 2019. The tournament will bring together about 200 participants from 50 countries, including Katinka Hosszú (Hungary), Vladimir Morozov, Anton Chupkov, Aleksandr Krasnykh (Russia), Emily Seebohm, Bronte and Cate Campbell (Australia), and many others.
On 13 October, Sunday, the finals of the individual event at BWF World Junior Championships 2019 took place in Kazan.
As part of his official trip to the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov visited the Gymnastics Centre which is hosting the BWF World Junior Championships 2019 in Kazan these days. In the Gymnastics Centre, the Minister met with Poul-Erik Høyer Larsen, President of the Badminton World Federation.
A regular meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects took place today in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan chaired by the Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov. Participating in the meeting were: President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Irina Potekhina, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Burganov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers Shamil Gafarov, Sports Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, Director General of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects Azat Kadyrov, and other officials.
