Ireland cut around the tournament’s favourite France to earn the bronze medals. Team Wales beat Team Poland in the match for the 5th place. The Belgian national team took the 7th position leaving Portugal behind.

Team Alfa 09 of Kaliningrad, Team NEVA of Saint-Petersburg and Team Drive-32 of Bryansk have qualified from their groups. The winner of Saint-Petersburg’s Zvezda vs Nizhny Novgorod Region will secure the last berth on Monday.

The semifinal matches of the second leg of the Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens Grand Prix Series saw Russia beat Ireland to move to the final match. England earned the second berth in the title event. The relegation matches ended with the victories of Wales, Poland, Sweden and the Netherlands.

The second leg of the Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens Grand Prix Series is underway at the Central Stadium in Kazan. After the group stage the playoffs bracket was drawn, the quarterfinal matches were played and the lower-ranking teams competed in the relegation games. The following teams managed to make it through to the next stage: Ireland, Russia, France and England; the teams of Poland and Spain increased their chances to remain in Rugby Europe’s top division.
