The Committee For The Development Of University Sport (CDSU) meetings take place these days in Taipei in the run-up to the Taipei Summer Universiade 2017. The Committee is headed by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) First Vice-President, Leonz Eder. Present at the Committee was also Azat Kadyrov, Director General of ANO "Directorate for Sports and Social Projects", member of the Committee For The Development Of University Sport, who led a presentation on a new Kazan project, FISU Volunteers Leaders Academy.

Beach sports summer in the capital of Tatarstan is in full swing: in July the city hosted the All-Russian Beach Games 2017, where Russian Beach Volleyball Cup took place as a test event in the lead-up to the major international tournament – U18 Beach Volleyball European Championship. On August 23-27 the best European volleyball pairs represented by the athletes up to 18 years will compete at the venue of the Beach Sports Centre located by the Aquatics Palace.

Kazan was granted the right to host the 45th WorldSkills Competition after winning a vote by the WSI General Assembly in Sao Paulo (BRA) on August 10, 2015. Following the outcome of the 2 rounds vote, Kazan had its triumph.

The VI Congress of the World Congress of Tatars takes place in Kazan on August 2-6.  The WorldSkills Kazan 2019 was presented at the Congress.

Kazan continues to work in close collaboration with Krasnoyarsk team who are getting ready for the Winter Universiade 2019. Members of the Volunteers Department of the ANO Directorate for Sports and Social Projects participated as experts during the educational programme of the International Youth Forum Biryusa which brought together 960 representatives of different youth movements and unions of Russia.

The Volunteer Programme of the 45th edition of WorldSkills 2019 in Kazan was presented during the All-Russian youth educational forum Territory of meanings on Klyazma. Ayrat Mubarakshin, Head of the Volunteers Department of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects, spoke on preparation of the Competition and the opportunities it provides to the volunteers.

In a dramatic race, Kirby Chambliss of the United States won the title in the fifth stop of the Red Bull Air Race. In Final 4 he covered the Kazan track in 0:58.378. With 40 points collected throughout the previous stops, Kirby Chambliss took the first place in the standings.

The winner in the Challenger Class was decided today, July 23, on the second competition day of the Red Bull Air Race in Kazan. Kenny Chiang, a 27-year-old pilot from China, took a win with 01:07.264. He became the first Chinese pilot to ever climb the podium at the Red Bull Air Race World Championship.

With the result of 01:07.091, the Polish pilot Luke Czepiela tops the podium of the Challenger Class. The Prize Giving Ceremony was held at the Kazan Ring Motor-racing Track which was turned into the runway airstrip for the Red Bull event with the hangars situated at the same place. The Challengers race was held in Kazan instead of Chiba (Japan), the host city of the 3rd Red Bull Air Race stop.
