On the second day of the Russian Championship at the Aquatics Palace in Kazan, Alexandra Sabitova smashed a new Russian junior record (2:05.98), having overcome the 200m butterfly race, and became a silver medallist of the Championship. Svetlana Chimrova won the race (2:05.03). Alexandra Maslova took bronze (2:10.94).

The Russian Short Course Swimming Championship in Kazan started with the victory of Alexander Krasnykh, athlete from Tatarstan. He demonstrated a great result haveing overcome the 400m freestyle race (3:36.84).

Today the Russian Short Course Swimming Championship kicked off at the Aquatics Palace, Kazan. 849 athletes from 60 Russian regions are among the participants of the Championship. It gathered a record number of swimmers within recent years, as reported by the President of the All-Russian Swimming Federation and FINA Bureau Member Vladimir Salnikov at the press conference.

The Russian Short Course Swimming Championship opened today, November 7, at the Aquatics Palace, Kazan. The event will serve as a qualifier for the FINA World Short Course Swimming Championship to be staged in Hangzhou (CHN) on December 11-16. Admission to the tournament is free.

On 6 November, the WorldSkills Flag Relay took place in Tomsk during the Opening Ceremony of the National Championship “Young Professionals”. The Governor of Tomsk Oblast Sergey Zhvachkin participated in the ceremony where the upcoming WorldSkills Kazan 2019 was presented.

More than 900 athletes from 61 region of the country will take part in the Russian Short Course Swimming Championship 2018. The Championship will be held at the Aquatics Palace on 7-12 November. Athletes will compete for medals in 46 disciplines. The capital of Tatarstan will host this competition for the 6th time. It has been annually organized in Kazan since 2013.
