Day 2 of the sixth leg of the FINA Swimming World Cup is underway in Kazan. Hungarian swimmer, three-time Olympic champion, many-time world and European champion Katinka Hosszu took her second gold at the tournament in Kazan. She showed the best time in the women’s 400m individual medley, touching the pad at 4:36.77.

The sixth leg of the FINA Swimming World Cup kicked off today in Kazan. Russian swimmer Anna Egorova earned the first gold on Day 1, clocking 4:08.93 in the women's 400m freestyle event.

The sixth leg of the FINA Swimming World Cup takes place at Kazan’s Aquatics Palace on 1-3 November. The tournament will bring together over 250 athletes from 50 countries. President of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Dr. Julio Maglione, who attended the press conference that took place today on the eve of the competition, expressed confidence that the World Cup will be held to the highest standards.

On the eve of the FINA Swimming World Cup heat, which will take place at the Aquatics Palace on 1-3 November, participants of the upcoming competitions held a workshop for students of Kazan’s sports schools. Australian swimmer Bronte Campbell (2016 Olympic champion, five times world champion, and five times Commonwealth Games winner), and her older sister Cate (twice Olympic 4×100m freestyle relay champion (2012 and 2016), four times world champion, and winner of the Commonwealth Games and World University Games), held a workshop for the boys and girls at the Olymp Sports Complex.

Preparation for the sixth leg of the FINA Swimming World Cup is in full swing as Kazan’s Aquatics Palace is preparing its infrastructure for hosting the competition on 1-3 November. Participants of the FINA Development Centre training camp – 30 swimmers from 24 countries – are actively gearing up for the event. The athletes train under careful guidance of Graham Hill, coach of Olympic champion Chad le Clos, and Miguel Lopez Alvarado, head coach of the FINA Development Centre in Thailand. Today, coaches and athletes shared their impression of the work done in the final few days, and their expectations of the upcoming tournament.

Kazan has just opened its international training camp for athletes who are receiving a scholarship from the FINA Development Centre. 30 swimmers from 24 countries will be training at the Aquatics Palace from October 21 to October 29, under the tutelage of two world-famous coaches: Miguel Lopez Alvarado from Spain and Graham Hill from South Africa.
