The International Children's Games for Olympic Champions’ Prizes (11th Alexander Popov Cup) kicked off in Kazan. The 11th Alexander Popov Cup combines six sporting events. The athletes will compete for prizes in Greco-Roman wrestling (Alexander Karelin prize); handball (Igor Lavrov prize); skiing (Alexander Legkov prize); rhythmic gymnastics (Daria Shkurikhina prize); synchronized swimming (Svetlana Romashina prize); swimming (Alexander Popov prize).

2018 Red Bull Air Race Season wrapped up. In a title that came down to the final round of the season, Martin Šonka won the first Red Bull Air Race World Championship of his career – and the first for his native Czech Republic. Capping off the season finale at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, USA on Sunday, Matt Hall of Australia joined Šonka on the overall podium in second, with US pilot Michael Goulian taking third. Texan Kirby Chambliss gave the weekend’s 20,000 home spectators even more to cheer about with a race podium.

On the fifth day of the Championship, men's 4x50m medley final sessions started in Kazan. Team from Saint Petersburg represented by Andrey Shabasov, Daniil Pakhomov, Daniil Melnikov, and Evgeny Ayzetullov achieved victory (1:35.74).
