During the seven days of the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy 2019, activists representing 80 continental and national university sports federations mastered new skills and shared experience as part of the Forum’s educational activities. The Academy’s main outcomes are volunteer program projects and concepts for 12 University Championships 2020 to take place across the globe supported by FISU.
FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy 2019 kicked off this Thursday, gathering together 130 activists representing 80 continental and national university sports federations, as well as organizers of World University Championships 2020 (various sports) at the Volga Youth Centre for the week 5 to 11 September 2019. The Republic of Tatarstan is a traditional host of this educational forum with a highly packed agenda welcoming the student sports leaders for the third year in a run.
50 volunteers from the Republic of Tatarstan joined the 29th Winter Universiade Volunteer Team. The event will take place in Krasnoyarsk. On 2-12 March 2019, the entire student sports world will feel the real winter (the motto of the games is “Real winter”), and 5,000 volunteers from all over the world will give the warmth of Siberia to guests.
On 10 December, the “Volunteer of the Year” Award Ceremony took place in Kazan at the “Moskovsky” Centre for Culture and Sports. This ceremony was the final event dedicated to the Year of the Volunteer in the Republic of Tatarstan. Aydar Gabdrakhmanov was announced the “Volunteer of the Year”. Alexander Bugayev, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, Leyla Fazleeva, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Damir Fattakhov, Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, Elmira Zaripova, Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, Kseniya Razuvaeva, Director of the Russian Centre for Civil Patriotic Education of Children and Youth, and other officials were among the honorary guests of the event.
